We were together for the longest year--
90 something days of heavy.
I swore to you I wouldn't see you around;
At least,
I prayed
I wouldn't.
I am still unsteady,
I am
The dumbest
Of the 30 days.
There is
Some kind of rule about halves and wholes;
It is in the fibers
Of the bed I make
[And wake up to].
I am racing a ghost.
I meditate on forgetting your face,
[That's not how meditation goes].
This month has been the longest day;
It's going
Like it
Never does.
